Proof of Trader for Onchain Swappers and Base Traders

What onchain swap volume counts on Proof of Trader across 8 chains, and how the Base passport and Base Blue card show your Base trading.

By VoltradePublished November 4, 20266 min read

Proof of Trader counts your onchain swaps on every DEX and aggregator across eight chains (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, HyperEVM and Solana), read from wallets you prove with a free signature, and awards 1 VXP per $100 of that volume. Transfers, bridges, deposits, liquidity, NFT trades and payouts don't count. If you trade on Base, the Base passport at base.voltrade.xyz/passport shows only your Base volume (Base swaps, Avantis, gTrade's Base trades and Coinbase), using the same wallets and keys as your main Proof of Trader.

Why onchain history is hard to prove

Onchain trading is public, but it isn't legible. Your swaps are spread across chains, DEXs, aggregators and wallets. A block explorer shows transactions one by one, mixed with transfers, approvals, bridges and liquidity moves. Nobody looking at that is going to add up your real trading volume, and most platforms don't try.

So onchain traders usually get rewarded in one of two ways: by a single protocol for activity on that protocol, or by a wallet score that treats every wallet as a separate person. Neither tells another platform what you actually trade.

The passport does the sorting for you. It keeps the swaps, drops everything that isn't a trade, and puts the result in one record split by chain, venue and instrument.

What counts, and what does not

CountsDoesn't count
Swaps on any DEX on the eight supported chainsTransfers between wallets
Swaps routed through an aggregatorBridges between chains
Perp trades on onchain perp DEXs (counted as perps)Deposits and withdrawals
Prediction-market trades (counted at the price paid per share)Adding or removing liquidity
NFT trades
Payouts and rewards received

The rule behind the table: volume is what you chose to trade. Moving funds around, providing liquidity or receiving a payout is activity, not trading, so it is left out. Counted volume vs raw volume explains why that distinction matters for any reward based on volume.

The eight chains

  • Ethereum
  • Base
  • Arbitrum
  • Polygon
  • Robinhood Chain
  • BNB Chain
  • HyperEVM
  • Solana

Every DEX and aggregator on those chains is covered, so you don't need to tell the passport which router or app you used.

App swaps through Fomo

Swaps made in the Fomo app are matched through your verified X account rather than a wallet you sign with. With a verified X account, those app swaps join the same record as your wallet swaps.

VXP for onchain swaps

Verified onchain swap volume earns 1 VXP per $100, the same rate as venue spot and prediction markets. Perpetuals and options earn 1 VXP per $1,000.

The difference is leverage. A $1,000 swap is $1,000 of your money changing hands. A $1,000 perp position can be $50 of margin. Counting both at the same rate would make swappers look much smaller than they are.

Onchain perps count too

Many onchain traders also use perp DEXs, and those read from the same wallets. Perp DEXs read from an EVM wallet include Hyperliquid, Lighter, GMX, Aster, Derive (perps and options), Ostium, Orderly, gTrade and Avantis, among others. On Solana, the passport reads Pacifica, Jupiter Perps, Phoenix, Bullet and GMX Solana.

One wallet signature covers all of them. You don't need a separate connection per venue. Is Proof of Trader safe? explains what that signature does and doesn't allow.

The Base passport

Voltrade on Base has its own view of the passport at base.voltrade.xyz/passport. It shows only your Base volume, from four sources:

SourceWhat it readsHow it connects
Base onchainSwaps on every Base DEX and aggregatorWallet signature
AvantisPerps on BaseWallet signature
gTradegTrade trades on Base onlyWallet signature
CoinbaseYour Coinbase exchange historyRead-only API key

Same wallets and keys

The Base passport isn't a separate account. It uses the same wallets and keys as your main passport, so anything you add on one appears on the other. If you have already connected your wallets on voltrade.xyz, the Base view is already populated with the Base share of them.

Why gTrade shows only Base trades

gTrade runs on more than one chain. Your full gTrade volume counts on the main passport, but the Base passport only shows the part traded on Base. That keeps the Base view an honest picture of Base activity.

Coinbase with a read-only key

Coinbase connects with a read-only API key. When you create it, enable read or view permission only, leave trading and withdrawals off, and don't restrict it to your IP address: reads come from Voltrade's servers, so an IP-limited key is refused. Keys are encrypted and never sent back to your browser, and the passport can never place orders or move funds.

Base competition volume is a floor

If you have traded in Voltrade's Base competitions, the volume those competitions tracked is used as a minimum, never added on top. Those trades are usually already in your Base swaps or perps, so adding them again would count them twice.

The Base Blue card preview

Base Blue is Base's upcoming trader card. Voltrade's version is a preview, on your profile at base.voltrade.xyz/profile. It shows the same Base volume as the Base passport, so the two always agree.

From the card you can open your Base volume, add wallets or connect Coinbase, and share the card as an image. The shared image never shows a wallet address. With X connected it can carry your X picture and handle; without X it shows initials.

Privacy

Your passport is private, on Base and everywhere else. On the public leaderboard you appear only as an anonymous alias with rounded figures, never your name, wallets or socials. The only public output is a card you choose to share, and the passport's share card can show or hide your X picture and name.

What the record is for

A verified onchain record lets partners make offers based on what you have actually traded. Offers come in tiers from Starter to Legendary, set by your verified volume. You choose which to activate, can run several at once, and every completed deal makes a shareable card. Some rewards are first to fill, so activating doesn't reserve one.

A wallet counts on one passport only. Once a reward is paid on it, that wallet is bound to that passport for good, which is what stops the same onchain history being claimed from two accounts.

For the wider product, see What is Proof of Trader?. If you also trade Polymarket or Outcome, Proof of Trader for prediction-market traders covers how those trades are measured. The original launch post, Introducing Proof of Trader, lists the genesis partners. Connect your wallets at voltrade.xyz/proof-of-trader.

FAQ

Which chains does Proof of Trader read onchain swaps from?

Eight: Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, HyperEVM and Solana. Swaps on every DEX and aggregator on those chains count.

Do bridges, transfers or liquidity count as volume?

No. Transfers, bridges, deposits, liquidity, NFT trades and payouts don't count. Only trades you chose to make are included.

How much VXP do onchain swaps earn?

1 VXP per $100 of verified onchain swap volume, the same as spot and prediction markets. Perps and options earn 1 VXP per $1,000.

What does the Base passport show?

Only your Base volume: Base onchain swaps, Avantis, gTrade's Base trades and Coinbase. It uses the same wallets and keys as your main passport at voltrade.xyz.

What is the Base Blue card?

Base Blue is Base's upcoming trader card. Voltrade's card at base.voltrade.xyz/profile is a preview that shows your Base volume from the passport.

Is connecting Coinbase safe?

Coinbase connects with a read-only API key. Leave trading and withdrawals off, don't restrict it to an IP address, and the passport can only read your history.
